Finished quilt

So, I finally got the binding on this quilt. I simply quilted a big cross-hatch pattern on it and then stitched in the ditch around the main blocks. I didn't have a walking foot so it did get all bunchy in some places, but overall it is a winner. Mike said it is his favorite, and has claimed it as his own. I'm pleased with it.

Perhaps pleased is an understatement of my feelings. I love it.

And I especially love the light blue backing. The front is so full of pattern that it was nice to have something light on the back. The binding is a stripe with lots of that light blue, so it softens the edges of the top. I really like this quilt. In fact, I'm the one who had it on my side of the bed last night. It is only lap quilt size, but hey, that's all I need :)
It will be a while before my scrap quilt is finished... I ran out of batting doing this one. In fact, I had to piece the batting! Gotta save my nickels to get more batting!
