For my next kid, whenever that is, I totally want one of these. My little sister has one on her baby's carseat, and it is so totally awesome! In fact, whoever made hers was so excellent that I simply copied hers to make this one. Like, in every little detail.
Since I live in Arizona, it gets hot sometimes. No, really. ;) And I am really terrible at hauling blankets around because the idea of a blanket in summer kills me. However, once you are inside a building, the air is on full blast and you and your babies are freezing. I'd totally use this cover as a makeshift blanket on such occassions. I'm all about multi-tasking!
With leftover fabric, I made this diaper and wipes holder.
For the carseat cover tutorial, I suggest going to THIS site. She has the easy version. Mine (or rather the talented gal who made my sister's) is slightly different, with added bias binding and some buttons or whatnot.
For the diaper holder, I used THIS tutorial. She also has a nursing cover tutorial for those who want to make a complete baby gift set for someone.

My sister makes beautiful covers like these. She started putting a snap on the side so that you can snap it shut and the blanket doesn't blow up in the wind.
I had seen these on a local TV show and I wanted one, but they were literally 50 bucks! I asked a friend if she thought she could make one and she did. It was great since my baby was born in February. She also made me a diaper bag to match it. Love these!
I know a baby "in the works", so to speak, lol, who will need one if these in month or so, great job! Being a grandmas I also like the additonal comment about fixing it to not blow in the wind, is gusty around here a lot!
