My baby is totally into baby dolls. Can I even call her my baby when she is 18 months old? Anyway, I am not getting her new dolls (there is no more room in their doll bin…), but I am going to help her with dolly play time!
We had two of these bassinet thingys when we were growing up, and now our kids play with them when at Grandma’s house. I used the pattern in the very back of my One Yard Wonders book. It says it is a Barnes and Noble special addition, but who knows where else it might show up. I did a quick Google search and found a similar-ish doll carrier tutorial here if you are interested.
Additional baby doll gifts to go along with this, and which I still need to dig in my scraps to make:
I am having a hard time coming up with appropriate Christmas gifts for my 18-month old. So far, this is all I have come up with. Any other ideas that would use up items in my craft closet?

I've been wanting to make these felt animals for my 14 month old: http://zitzmanfam.blogspot.com/2010/09/old-macdonald-puppet-tutorial-and.html. Thanks for sharing the doll carrier.
Umm...I don't know for gifts...Zo is getting a lot of clothes...And a baby doll since she doesn't have a full doll bin :)
LOVE the new pic links on the sidebar! Cuteness!
My daughter is getting into doll stuff too, and doing all the things she sees us do, like pack things into a "diaper bag" for her dolls. She uses a very simple little shoulder bag. Might be useful for your daughter to put the blanket and diapers in?
I just had my second baby and I made one of these for my 18 month old as well. she loves it. I have already made 3 outfits and 3 diapers for her and I love the idea from Megan to make a diaper bag for my little girl.
I have been having the same problem with my 13 month old. I finally settled on making a quiet book (if you don't know what i'm talking about, I think jill of "homemade by jill" did a pretty elaborate one for her little man). and i like the felt animals idea above! have fun! can't wait to see what you come up with.
that is adorable!! My daughter loves her mini baby doll bibs too-those might be fun to make!
Both of my boys (not quite two and not quite four) are getting one of these pillow seats. I used denim printed with airplanes, but I'm sure you could make something very girly and pretty for your daughter. I know these are a hit with the kids because they found my gift stash in the guest room closet and were happily sitting and pummeling each other when I discovered the gift breach!
Oops, forgot the link!

Great gift, thinking of making one for my niece.
You could always buy one of those small wooden chest (about $10 bucks) at michaels paint and personalize it and it can hold all the dolls clothes and things, like a dresser for her dolls. My friend did that for her daughter turned out great.
Fabric food is an option as well (I know you already have a kitchen play set!). Also, remember that she's just 18 months old, so she most likely will not be sensitive to quantity of presents...

I have the same problem with Livy. She LOVES dolls but has way to many so its hard to come up with anything else for her. I am actually just starting one of these tonight.
This is the exact same thing that my mom is giving to my daughter for Christmas! I grew up with them. Nice to see them making a come back.
Your doll carrier is very cute. We got my youngest (21 months) a baby doll for Christmas. She would probably love one of these. I've heard a lot of good things about One Yard Wonders. I think I may have to pick it up.
